It's been far too long since we last had a Steve McQueen movie. Returning five years after he released his Academy Award devouring 12 Years A Slave, the director is back this year with the inventive thriller, Widows.

A heist movie where the wives of four murdered thieves take it upon themselves to finish the job their husbands couldn't, the flick seems to be a welcome change of pace compared to the oppressively-bleak flicks the director usually concerns himself with.

However, where it won't be a change of pace, no doubt, will be in the movie's awards potential. Starring easily one of the most star-studded ensemble casts of the year - including, but not limited to, Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Collin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Carrie Coon, Jon Bernthal and Liam Neeson - a couple nods in the acting categories at the Oscars seems locked in, at the very least, come next February.
