Though Pixar's output has been a little less sturdy in recent years, It's easy to be incredibly optimistic about this long-awaited sequel, which seems to exist primarily because the fans wanted it rather than Disney simply wanting to shift some more merch (looking at you, Cars).
Original writer-director Brad Bird returning instils the project with an enormous amount of confidence, and considering the virtually unlimited ammunition the movie will have to lampoon the current landscape of superhero cinema, this could end up one of Pixar's smartest and most self-aware films to date.
