9. The Lion King (90%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Jon Favreau reinvents Disney's beloved animation with this visually stunning, heartfelt remake sure to please the original's legion of fans."

Given that Jon Favreau turned 2016's The Jungle Book into a critical (95%) and commercial success beyond anyone's wildest expectations, there's little reason to doubt his ability to do the same for The Lion King.

And though the latter is certainly a far more cherished and iconic animation, from the little we've seen so far, it sure seems like the director has captured the heart and soul of the source material.

That's to say nothing of its ludicrously stacked cast, which should compliment the cutting-edge visual effects spectacularly.
