12. The Unicorns - Death of a Unicorn

Death of a Unicorn is an unfortunate case of a movie with a brilliant concept that just couldn't quite deliver on said concept's full potential. 

A horror-comedy in which vengeful unicorns murder the wealthy elites who sought to exploit them? Sounds great.

But there's a fundamental issue with the film beyond its underwhelming script - the unicorns themselves look... pretty terrible?

There's a distinct 2000s-era look to these not-convincing-enough creatures, where every time they move or do much of anything it's tough not to notice how blatantly floaty, low-res, and artificial they look.

Now to be completely fair to the production, it was made on a mere $15 million budget and said unicorns are featured extensively throughout the 107-minute runtime.

But even so, considering they're the main selling point of the movie it's a fatal flaw that they look so unimpressive.

In 2025 it probably shouldn't be too hard for a major movie starring A-list actors to render decent-looking horse-adjacent animals, but the budget could've probably also used another $5-10 million to get the job done properly.
