20 Recent Movies That Deserve A Sequel
11. The Wrecking Crew
A buddy action comedy starring Dave Bautista opposite Jason Momoa as estranged half-brothers really speaks for itself.
The Wrecking Crew had great action, childish bickering, a chemistry between the two stars that no one could have or should have doubted, and some surprisingly emotional beats, all with a healthy amount of rock music thrown in. All in all, it was a fun two-hour romp that could easily extend to another two hours.
The streaming numbers confirm that the film was a hit, as it soared straight to the top of the Amazon Prime charts not just in the US, but across the world. It seems clear that the masses want more of the fun partnership, and if Amazon is handing out sequels to the likes of Road House, then The Wrecking Crew should absolutely be in that same conversation.
Writer and director Angel Manuel Soto has already expressed interest in a sequel, and has a couple of ideas ranging from pursuing the killer that wasn't caught to the Yakuza continuing their hunt for Jonny (Momoa). Either way, a story with both brothers together from page one could really be a fun outing, and build on the groundwork laid in the first.
