6. Alien: Romulus

With Alien: Romulus and Alien: Earth coming so close to each other, and both being such an improvement on what the franchise had put out prior to them, it would frankly be insane not to do everything to get a follow-up to the former out as soon as possible.

Whether as a direct sequel or not, as the scope of the franchise now allows for different stories across the timeline, similar to how Star Wars operates, there is irrefutable proof that there is demand for more from Alien on the big screen.

Rumours however, tell of the next chapter in the story seeing issues already. Though no official announcement has been made, Romulus director Fede Alvarez has spoken of a sequel, with a script being written, but the last update came in September 2025 and it wasn't positive.

This was Alvarez announcing that he was stepping away from directing the film, with no news or further updates coming in the months since. It's worrying, as it's now been two years since Romulus released, and with both Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson having huge career boosts in that time, it's only going to get harder to get them both available together. The sooner this can get made, the better.
