16. "There's No Hogwarts Without You, Hagrid" - Chamber Of Secrets
The Line: At the end of the movie, as the year-end feast takes place, Hagrid returns to Hogwarts. Harry stands up, stares lovingly at the giant and declares, "There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid." Hagrid then receives a standing ovation and the credits roll. Why It's Ridiculous: Now, we have to remember that the first two Harry Potter movies were for the most part incredibly earnest in order to be extremely accessible to youngsters (and the first film's $974 million box office is a testament to that strategy). It wasn't until the third film, Prisoner of Azkaban, that the darker tone was introduced and the series moved into a far more compelling, downcast mode. As such, you have to expect a little more schmaltz and sweetness in the earlier films, even if they're difficult to look back on and appreciate following the stellar work of the later, more grown-up movies. Harry's obsessive gaze, Radcliffe's delivery and the corny zoom in all create the perfect recipe for a fine cheese sandwich.
