The Line: Here's another dialogue so daft we'll just include the whole thing, as Harry asks Cho to the Yule Ball: Harry: I just wondered if... Harry: Ijustwanderedifmaybeyouwantedtogototheballwithme! Cho: Sorry, I didn't catch that. Harry: I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to go to the ball with me... Cho: Oh, um. Harry, I'm sorry but someone's already asked me. And well, I've, I've said I'll go with them. Harry: Okay, yeah, great, fine, no problem, okay, good. Cho: Harry! I really am...sorry. Why It's Ridiculous: Again, it's more awkward teenage romance that's completely laughable if also somewhat effective in conveying the hormone-infused stress and tension inherent in these characters' lives. The kicker is Harry's cringe-worthy reaction to Cho's unfortunate rejection, which just goes on and on and on past the point of funny to near-Hugh Grant levels of depressingly bumbling and absurd.
