Southern Gothic continues its resurgence, only this time with Rainn Wilson from The Office instead of Matthew McConaughey pulling up his acting bootstraps. The star of Craig William Macneill's film, though, is the revelatory Jared Breeze in the title role.

The Boy is a child sociopath, a young man whose desperate situation - living out in the desert with his alcoholic father (David Morse), meeting Wilson's nameless drifter - engenders a morbid fascination with death.
