The Plot: Downtrodden school teacher Neil Clarke (Simon Pegg) inadvertently becomes part of an inter-galactic experiment, as a group of space aliens (played by the remaining living Monty Python members) wager over how a human might behave if bestowed with the power to do, well, absolutely anything. With his now-talking dog Dennis (Robin Williams), he attempts to follow a path which will better himself without doing irreversible damage to those around him and the Earth itself. Why It Shouldn't Exist: Similarly to Diesel's predicament, it re-affirms Simon Pegg's inability to carry a movie without either Edgar Wright or a major franchise name to stand in front of. The film plays out like a cack sitcom pilot dragged out for 80-something minutes, but its worst offense is giving Robin Williams a rather terrible project to end his career on. At least the mid-credits clips of Williams recording his dialogue suggest he had fun performing in it. A small mercy. Plus, Kate Beckinsale as Simon Pegg's love interest? That's more implausible than the whole "aliens making a bet" shtick.
