3. Starcrash

Starcrash is Star Wars as only the Italians could do it: dirt cheap, horribly dubbed and full of effects that aren’t very special. It’s still more fun than The Phantom Menace.

You have to love a knock-off where a robot with a Southern drawl stands in for C3PO, Caroline Munro in a leather bikini fills in Carrie Fisher and David Hasselhoff gets the Han Solo role. Joe Spinell plays the villain without a shred of restraint, cackling wildly as he threatens the universe with a lava lamp.

Best of all, though, is Christopher Plummer, who saves the day with the words, “Imperial Battleship….halt the flow of time!”
