8. Oscar Isaac Suggested That Poe Was Born On Yavin IV

In Star Wars: Shattered Empire, a comic released shortly before The Force Awakens, it was revealed that Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) was born on the moon Yavin IV.

But rather than a piece of character shading cooked up by the Lucasfilm Story Group, this was actually suggested by none other than Oscar Isaac himself, due to a unique identification the actor has with the locale.

After learning that Yavin IV in the original trilogy was predominantly filmed in Tikal, Guatemala, the Guatemalan-born Isaac felt that it made perfect sense for Poe himself to hail from the moon.

While it ultimately informs Poe's character in a fairly trivial sense, it's nevertheless a neat way for Isaac to pay tribute to his homeland.
