Throughout the entire movie, we never see Bruce Willis’
Malcolm actually physically interact with anyone or anything bar young Cole - well, except for the opening act.
That scene where Malcolm is in a restaurant with his wife? His
chair is already pulled out and his wife grabs the check. Any time Malcolm
walks through a door? It’s already open.
The only things that Malcolm actually does touch or move are
the Latin dictionary and his tape recorder – both of which can be attributed to
the spooky shenanigans of Malcolm’s ultimately chilling fate.
