3. Bill's Reservoir Dogs Reference

That Safeguard gasoline canister isn't the only Reservoir Dogs reference in the film. During the final showdown, Bill pulls out a gun and points it at Beatrix, before telling her, "If you don't settle down, I'm gonna have to put one in your kneecap. And I hear tell that's a very painful place to get shot in."

This is in fact a wink and a nod to a similar line from Tarantino's debut, where Mr. Blonde (Harvey Keitel) tells a wounded Mr. Orange (Tim Roth) in the film's climax, "Along with the kneecap, the gut is the most painful area a guy can get shot in."

It's in Tarantino fans' nature to consider whether it's possible for Bill to have learned this information from Mr. Blonde once upon a time - or perhaps he just watched the same TV show.
