40 years ago, the galaxy far, far away's first collection of tales were brought to a dramatic close.

A father was redeemed. A one-time farm boy ultimately became a fully-fledged Jedi. And peace finally spread across the galaxy... for a few years, at least.

But you knew that already.

What you perhaps didn't realise, even after repeatedly taking in things like Luke Skywalker and the gang's iconic mission to save Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, is that there were a few glorious details just asking to be discovered during those many legendary sequences. Though many of these little treats and chunks of information were largely overlooked by even the more clued-up Star Wars lovers.

Worry not my precious padawans and loveable smugglers, though, because not even a second Death Star could keep your writer from delivering you the easily missed tidbits and nuggets of gold that can be found hiding in plain sight during this Return of the Jedi.

So, get ready to have your minds blown at the reveal of villainous gangster ink, dodgy lightsaber throws, and more Ewok details than you ever knew you needed in your life. It's time to take a closer look at all things Episode VI...

20. Yoda Is The Only Jedi To Die Of Natural Causes On-Screen

It's a dangerous ol' life sitting on the light side of the Force, you know.

Over the years, the likes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Luke Skywalker, and many more have either sacrificed themselves to help protect a hopeful future or have simply been cut down by the forces of evil in the galaxy on-screen.

In fact, pretty much EVERY Jedi ever to pop up in a Star Wars movie has found themselves passing over to the other side after being killed or sacrificing themselves at one point or another. All except one.

And said only moment of a Jedi passing away due to natural causes comes during Return of the Jedi as a rather ill Master Yoda eventually pops his clogs before Luke Skywalker after living to the ripe old age of 900.

After taking a similar amount of time to squeeze out his final few lines, of course.
