Why It's Going To Suck: OH GOD
It was only a matter of time before they decided to remake Annie, we guess, but who would have thought it would happen like this? So here's a version that looks so downright awful that it erases all good will brought on by the original version: a sort of strained monstrosity that looks like a Nickelodeon sitcom, featuring a cringeworthy performance from Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan, and a weird turn from Jamie Foxx as Daddy Warbucks.
It's certainly strange. According to the trailer, the songs have been infused was a "modern" vibe, which makes sense given that these are modern times - but did we really ever need to hear a version of "Hard Knock Life" rendered in an R'n'B style (sorry, Jay Z)? And then there's the horrible, auto-tuned version of "Tomorrow," which sounds like it was recorded 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Leave the classics alone, won't you?
