20 Worst Performances In MCU Movies
8. Lee Pace
Character: Ronan The Accuser
Film: Guardians of the Galaxy
Lee Pace is yet another talented actor who was stuck with a terrible villain in the MCU. Anyone would struggle to find something interesting to do with such an under-developed character and Pace is sadly another casaulty of the villain problem.
Guardians of the Galaxy is a hilarious and heartfelt thrill ride which most people loved, but it's fair to say nobody loved the villain at all. Ronan the Accuser is a flat, nothing antagonist and even the world's best actor would struggle with such a part. GOTG is one of the best-acted MCU films so this two-dimensional role stuck out like a sore thumb.
The equally delightful and criminally underrated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 solved the villain problem and came up with a memorable and ridiculously evil villain in Kurt Russell's Ego, which makes this guy seem even more of a misfire in hindsight. There is nothing to remember about this dude at all and it's a perfect example of a two-dimensional, paint-by-numbers villainous performance which is nothing more than a vaguely evil-sounding voice.
