20 Recent Box Office Bombs EVERYONE Saw Coming

14. Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die

Gore Verbinski's first feature film in almost an entire decade, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die, was an absolute blast, and even though Verbinski produced the ambitious sci-fi comedy for an impressively tight $20 million, there was clearly no hope of it ever becoming a box-office breakout.

For one, the wacky time-travelling concept isn't something that can be quickly sold to audiences, and in addition to this, the film's marketing wasn't particularly outstanding.

Also it was distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, a boutique label with few major hits to their name.

Add to this the fact that, much as we love him, Sam Rockwell isn't a major box office draw, and the writing was on the wall that this one would come and go quickly.

And that it did, grossing just $7 million after two weekends on release, though at least it seems primed to become something of a cult classic once it hits streaming. Time is gonna be kind to this one, box office receipts be-damned.
