20 Recent Movie Rumours That Were Total BULL

14. It's About Vampires OR Helicopter Cops - The Odyssey

The Rumour:

Shortly after Christopher Nolan's new movie was announced in October 2024 with Matt Damon and Tom Holland set to star, two prominent rumours began doing the rounds regarding its subject matter.

The first claimed that it was a vampire-centric period piece, while the second stated it would actually be about a pair of "helicopter cops" in a futuristic New York and in fact be a reboot of the 1983 action-thriller Blue Thunder.

The Truth:

That December, Nolan and Universal finally dropped the veil of secrecy, of course revealing the Oscar-winning filmmaker's new project to be a huge-scale adaptation of Homer's ancient Greek epic poem The Odyssey.

Hilariously, Nolan was asked about the rumours more recently and admitted that he was "bewildered" when he first heard the Blue Thunder story, while stating that he was "always more of an Airwolf fan."

And so, we can probably expect this fun circus to begin all over again when Nolan gears up to make his next movie.
