JK killed off quite a few characters from the beloved series, well, the ones that we know about anyway... Sirius, Dumbledore, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Remus, Tonks and Snape. And that's not to mention the Muggle casualties and the unnamed victims of the Death Eaters. Seven books with a bit of her soul in each one; she'll live forever.
