24 Predictions For This Oscar Season's Rotten Tomatoes Scores

17. Suffragette (66%)

Predicted Critical Consensus: "Suffragette is a powerful, if uneven, look at the women's suffrage movement, driven forward by excellent performances from Carey Mulligan and Meryl Streep." With only one narrative feature and a documentary under her belt (Brick Lane and Village at the End of the World, scoring 66% and 100% respectively), director Sarah Gavron is a bit of a wild card, but with worthy subject matter and a stellar cast, it seems unlikely that the film would end up Rotten, even if a couple of missteps are to be expected. Yes, it looks like card-carrying Oscar-bait through and through, but solid Oscar-bait nonetheless, and so while sure to turn off more cynical audiences, will probably prove inspiring enough to win over 2/3 of the critics. As for Oscar plaudits? Already chalk one up for Meryl Streep...
