Samuel L Jackson's most famous role in a superhero movie is of course head of SHIELD Nick Fury, the glue that holds the Marvel Cinematic Universe together. Yet Marvels main man has also starred in another comic book film, based on a character who has been published by DC. The film was The Spirit the solo directorial debut of comics legend Frank Miller - and Jackson played criminal mastermind the Octopus.
