The sets on The Phantom Menace were only built as high as the tops of the actors heads for some reason. Seemingly so computer graphics could fill out the rest. However, unprepared for the 6 foot 4 inch Liam Neeson, they had to spend $150,000 rebuilding the sets to accommodate him. Good thing Chewie didnt show up.
4. Qui-Gon Jinns Ladies Razor
Sci-fi films are known for their frequent use of improvised props from everyday products. Even in a big budget movie like Star Wars, theyre no different. In The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon Jinns communicator is simply a redecorated Sensor Excel Razor for Women. You can also see three Hewlett-Packard Inkjet cartridges among the props in the background during the scene where the group leaves Tatooine. Presumably they spent all the money on other things.
