16. Hisoka Morow - Hunter X Hunter

Hunter x Hunter is blessed with numerous great villain characters, but none are so alluring as Hisoka Morow, the man who makes you uncertain of whether to laugh or cry at his questionable actions.

It’s no surprise the effeminate Hisoka has earned comparisons to DC’s The Joker, but this writer sees the character more so as what would happen had David Bowie been filled with spite instead of stardust.

Sleek, pale, tattooed and with all the creepy tendencies one might expect of Batman’s clown arch-nemesis, Hisoka is a whimsical, almost playful character for the most part, but his evil shines through when it counts.

The character is almost likeable but has a tendency to flip into his more savage side all of a sudden and is responsible for the deaths of many a powerful fighter throughout the series.
