Now you can’t deny for one moment that the plot of the Cured is actually one of the more terrifying on this list. What happens if you can cure the zombies? The only caveat being, that they remember and have flashbacks to their dead selves. Again proof that there is still life and can be depth to the zombie genre yet.
For the most part, this is a hard-hitting drama that is just a bit too close to home that seeks to tackle the problems of segregation. What happens when the government tries to reintegrate the dead back into a society that they once preyed on before?
Even though this was obviously made on a tight budget, Elliot Page also adds some much-needed weight to The Cured and helps elevate this independent Irish film about a broken society.
