Most people would not be particularly eager to mourn a spider, and especially not a giant man-eating spider with a history of trying to feed Harry and Ron to his children. But Aragog is this high on the list for one reason and one reason only: Hagrid. Because really, any time that hairy half-giant cries, we all cry along with him. And in feeling bad for him, it's a lot more easy to sort of forget what a bloodthirsty monster Aragog actually was. And maybe you can just put that down to his spider nature.
