Produced by 21 Jump Street/ Lego Movie masterminds Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Connected is an animated family comedy which tells the story of a father and daughter who have grown apart, and the cross-country pre-college road trip which brings them back together.

Heartwarming, sure, and Broad City's Abbi Jaccobson and Eastbound and Down's Danny McBride make for an appealing (if questionably aged) father daughter duo.

But does it really sound "top twenty five of 2020" exciting?

Well, it's worth mentioning that this family bonding happens during a technological uprising which makes Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive look like Minimum Underdrive (sorry). Filled to the brim with chaotic set pieces and sharp one-liners, the promising trailer for this one has hopes high for the sci-fi family adventure.
