25 Most Hotly Anticipated Movies Of Summer 2016 - Ranked
15. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows
Release Date: June 3rd
Billed As: Michael Bay attempting to ruin your childhood again, but accidentally making something perversely entertaining. Now with added Bebop and Rocksteady.
Hype: There are a lot of things to be mad at Michael Bay about: his camera angles make your neck hurt, he over-sexualises female characters and he put a gigantic set of metallic testes on a Transformer. But it's hard to hate him for his hand in the Turtles movies, no matter how trashy they are,
Despite legitimately being one of the dumbest movies ever released, the first Turtles movie under his control (he doesn't direct, but his presence is felt a lot) was a brainless joy. It was silly, explosive and charming in the way only a village idiot can be, and incredibly, the second one looks to have captured that same magic again on a grander scale.
Knowing full well that nuance has no place in this franchise, Bay and director Dave Green have instead dialled everything up to 11, adding fan favourite characters Bebop, Rocksteady, Casey Jones, Baxter Stockman and Krang. Subtle, it absolutely won't be, but it's likely to be a lot of fun.
