12. It's One Of Only Two Die Hards To Have An Original Screenplay

All bar two Die Hard films have adapted their screenplays from other material. The first film was based on the book Nothing Lasts Forever by Frederick Thorp, while the second was based on another novel, Walter Wager's 58 minutes. Even Life Free or Die Hard was based on other material, this time a John Carlin article published in Wired magazine, called "A Farewell to Arms".

The only two Die Hards to not be based on a novel or some other published material are Die Hard with a Vengeance and 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard.
