12. The Iconic Yellow Suit Was Based On Carrey's Own Stand-Up Suit

If you thought that the aforementioned yellow suit worn by The Mask (for a whole five minutes!) in the film was lifted directly from the comic books, think again.

The "zoot suit" was actually inspired by Carrey's own life, based on a suit which his mother made for him when he made his first attempt at performing stand-up comedy.

And now, we all imagine a young Carrey slaying a half-empty comedy store while wearing this ridiculous get-up.
