13. Reed, Doom & Johnny Get Drunk Before The Accident
And here's where things truly get to the point of no return. Victor, Reed and Johnny are working late in the lab one night while drinking some of Victor's alcohol, when they decide to test out their travel gate for the first time. You read that right: the only reason the accident even happens is because the three of them get wasted, suit up, invite Grimm along for the ride, and the rest is history. If there's any major creative misstep the movie makes, this is probably it. Is it a desperate means to appeal to the late teen demographic, or what else could be the thinking behind this? Isn't it more interesting and less goofy if it's an approved experiment that goes wrong rather than some dumb a**hats doing stupid stuff while drunk?
