4. Maggie's 3-D Glasses - Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
In the world of 3-D movie-making, it is the best of times and the worst of times. Today, technology-loving auteurs like James Cameron and Alfonso Cuarón are finding new and boundary-pushing ways to utilize the format in order to maximize the moviegoing experience. On the other hand, money-grubbing studio heads have a long history of exploiting the technology to squeeze a few extra dollars out of willing audience members. For every Gravity and Avatar, you have a Final Nightmare. Indeed, the last ten minutes of the film are in 3-D. This isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but it's the way that it's shoehorned in that's troubling. The main character is instructed to put on a pair of 3-D shades to help keep her safe. The funny thing about it is that the character herself actually laughs at the thought. Even she's well aware of how ridiculous it is.
