5. One Producer Offered To Fund The Film If His Girlfriend Played Mr. Blonde (!)

Before Harvey Keitel came aboard and the movie received a major funding injection, Tarantino and producer Lawrence Bender were fielding decidedly less fruitful offers from other investors.

One producer offered the pair $1.5 million if it was revealed that the entire gang survived the heist and their "deaths" were simply another part of the ruse, but that was a positively sane request compared to another offer they received.

Another producer could rustle up $500,000, but only if his girlfriend were cast in the role of Mr. Blonde.

According to Bender, the idea was so peculiarly left-field that he and Tarantino actually briefly considered it. If only, right?
