Who's Involved: Visual effects supervisor Tim Miller (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) makes his directing debut, while Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland, G.I. Joe: Retaliation) are writing the script, with Ryan Reynolds taking the title role. What's It About: An attempt to introduce Deadpool into the current X-Men continuity, complete with his quick wit and characteristic fourth wall-breaking escapades. Why We Should Care: Because comic book fans have been desperate to see this movie made for years, and something needs to erase the headache-inducing memories of Deadpool's appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Plus, Reynolds is perfectly cast, and the VFX test reel leaked last year looked totally awesome. When's It Due: February 12, 2016, though with shooting not starting until March, this one could easily get pushed back to the early summer.
