The next high-profile adaptation of Jo Nesbo's best-selling works after Headhunters became Denmark's highest grossing film ever. Michael Fassbender leads a dark, violent Scandinavian style thriller, which is about all you need to know about it.
Hype:
Expect lots of darkness, lots of brooding and a central performance from Fassbender that takes lots of leads from the best Scandinavian crime shows: fractured, vulnerable, relatable... He's playing the delightfully named Harry Hole in a story that feels a little like Silence Of The Lambs.
It also has Val Kilmer in, which is almost worthy of the ticket price alone - not to mention that he's joined by the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, J. K. Simmons , James D'Arcy and Toby Jones.
And director Tomas Alfredson already has form with Let The Right One In and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, so there's lots to be excited about.
