23. Tarantino's Awful Acceptance Speech For Ennio Morricone
87-year-old Ennio Morricone didn't travel to the U.S. to collect his Golden Globe, so instead The Hateful Eight's director, Quentin Tarantino, accepted it on his behalf, resulting in arguably the most cringe-worthy acceptance speech of the entire night. A possibly coked-up QT takes to the stage and says that Morricone is his favourite composer, not merely a "movie composer" (sarcastically referring to that racket as a "ghetto"), comparing him to Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, before proclaiming that Morricone has never won an award for any individual movie he has made (which blatantly isn't true: Tarantino meant the Oscars but got confused). Tarantino then makes it about himself, remarking how he directed the film, before shouting "Grazie!"
