Early on in the first Games, Katniss is sat in the trees trying to lay low from the approaching career tributes, when Rue points her attention to a hive of Tracker Jackers. Katniss then uses a knife to cut the nest down, causing it to drop onto the Careers, who subsequently flee. It's all too late for Glimmer, though, who is stung to death by the genetically engineered wasps in one of the film's most brutal deaths (because as long as there's no blood, it's all good for PG-13 , right?)
