40 Most Ridiculous Moments In The Fast & Furious Franchise

9. 30 Minutes Without Any Car Chases (Fast & Furious)

Surely the longest gap in any Fast & Furious movie without some actual driving, there's a whole half-hour portion of the 107-minute movie in which nobody drives anything, and it's both weird and infuriating. After the opening set piece in which Dom and Letty play chicken with the tanker, the movie focuses on Dom's relationship drama with Letty (foreshadowing her death), as well as re-introducing Brian into the franchise, leading to one admittedly decent chase sequence...which just so happens to take place on foot. Then Letty "dies", Dom investigates, Brian reunites with a very angry Mia, Dom has a run-in with Brian, and finally, the next race finally kicks off (with that aforementioned, annoying GPS). For a Fast & Furious movie, especially one that's relatively short, bogging the movie down with so much drama and non-vehicular action was a huge mistake, as well as just plain strange.
