5 Amazing Super Powers You Wish You Had But Can't Thanks To Science

2. Immortality

Immortality is pretty awesome right? You can't die. That kinda makes you a god amongst men who can live whatever kind of lifestyle you so chose because no matter how bad it may be you don't pay the price with your life. You can't get sick. You're never going to have to take that final dirt nap and be eaten by worms. You've only one life so live it and live it and live it some more. Imagine the things you could see as well. So many new eras in time and monumental once in a lifetime instances. It would be one hell of a ride. It would be like being a vampire but without the whole steak in the heart or exposure to sunlight weakness bullsh*t that drags you down. But with great powers come great downsides as you probably can see by this point and even immortality isn't all it's meant to be. Firstly you have to ask yourself just how immortal am I? For example Chris Lambert in Highlander is immortal unless he has his head cut off. Is this the same for you? If that's not the case then what are you supposed to do if you find yourself without your head? Are you condemned to walk the earth forever minus your bonce? What if your head and your body become separated and can never be reunited? How does eternity sound without a head? On the other hand you might never find yourself without a treasured limb and just live a normal existence moving around a lot to avoid detection from anyone who might realise you haven't aged in the last 100 years. That wouldn't be so bad I guess, but imagine how many times you would lose your loved ones and your friends. You would be doomed to outlive everything and everyone you have ever loved. After a few hundred years you might get used to things and stop investing in relationships eventually isolating yourself from society. As you grow older your concept of time changes and seems to pass quicker. If you've been alive for 500 years what's to say that regular people's lives wouldn't start and finish in the blink of an eye for you? And then there's the ultimate problem. At some point the world is going to end. The Sun will explode and everything will be wiped out. Everything that is except you. With no way of dying it wont matter that you've no oxygen in space you'll just float endlessly on for eternity - completely alone. Now I'm no social butterfly but that doesn't sound all that great to me. Does it you?
