5. Rounders (2002)

Norton€™s Character: Lester €˜Worm€™ Burnham Why It Was Awesome: You might have immediately written Rounders off as a niche movie, aimed solely at Poker fans. And while it€™s true, Poker is the dominant motif, the story delves much deeper into the characters than just Kings, Queens and Aces. As Matt Damon€™s ever-present voice over indicates within; you play the player, not the cards. Norton gives a typically fantastic performance here, in a turn that, believe it or not, was inspired by old Bugs Bunny cartoons. Lester is wise-crackin€™ and borderline obnoxious, but with his characteristic knack for duality, Norton somehow fills the guy with an infectious charm, all but forcing us to root for him regardless.
