5 Bad Movies With Great Taglines

4. Psycho (1998)

Arguably the most misguided attempt at remaking a classic ever, Gus Van Sant€™s updating of Alfred Hitchcock€™s 1960 classic masterpiece is basically a shot-for-shot remake in that many scenes basically mimic what the Master of Suspense did almost four decades earlier. But as the late-great Roger Ebert described it in his review, €œa shot-by-shot remake is pointless; genius apparently resides between or beneath the shots, or in chemistry that cannot be timed or counted.€ The tagline:€œCheck in. Relax. Take a shower.€ This fantastic tagline takes the most iconic element of the original Psycho €“ the fateful shower in which Marion Crane makes her sharp demise €“ and prays on our nostalgia and love for that moment we first saw €œthe shower scene.€ Brilliant.
