5 Bad Movies With Great Taglines

By Ross Miller /

1. House of Wax (2005)

Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton star in this pointless remake that takes the concept of the 1953 film (itself a sort-of remake of a 1933 film entitled Mystery of the Wax Museum) €“ the wax figurines in a museum are actually live people underneath €“ and turns it into a generic and formulaic teen-slasher flick. The tagline:€œOn May 6th€ see Paris die!€ The studio behind the film certainly weren€™t being coy when they okayed the above tagline, basically using the fact that Paris Hilton dies (in pretty spectacular fashion via a pole through the eye) to try and sell the movie to the public. The movie did okay at the box office, making $12 million in its opening weekend and $68 million worldwide overall, but it begs the question of how much of that attendance was down to the promise the tagline made?
