5 Best & 5 Worst Comic Book Movie Reboots
5. BEST - Dredd
In 1995, Sylvester Stallone triggered pretty much every Judge Dredd fan in the world by insisting that his face was way too famous to be covered by a mask, no matter how integral it was to the original character. As a result, his take on Judge Dredd was a disaster - and an unintentionally funny one at that - which is best left on the pile or forgotten oddities of the 1990s.
It took a while, but we eventually got a redo more than a decade later in 2012 from Pete Travis and Alex Garland (who acted as a sort of secondary director on set as well as writing and producing) and it was more than worth the wait.
Sure, it leans heavily on the success of The Raid (to the point of stealing the action concept), but it delivered on everything fans wanted for a Dredd movie. Sadly, it made too little money to spark a full franchise but it's definitely counted as a cult gem now.
