Superhero movies are 'the in thing' in Hollywood as of late and there are always things going on in them, aside from the main plots, to keep audiences alert and on their toes. Little Easter eggs in the form of references to an expanded universe always seem to occur - whether it be the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's trophy room in Thor, Wakanda highlighted on the map in Iron Man 2 or talk of the Super Soldier initiative in Hulk, viewers have to keep their eyes and ears peeled to catch these references. Whether it's a reference to another character or storyline in the form of a single line of script, an item or prop in the background or an outright cameo of a character, the subtlety of these references differ. One thing that is a sure-fire sign of an expanded universe is when a character cameos. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine made a humorous cameo in X-Men: First Class and it made me think how it would be cool to see more brief, funny cameos like that in future comic book movies. Up until quite recently, I probably would've included Rocket Raccoon in this list, but he's actually going to have a starring role in Guardians of the Galaxy! That just shows that the inclusion of some of these characters in future movies might not be as unrealistic as you might think - cameo or otherwise!
