It's pretty much the job of any screenwriter to play fair with his audience: if he or she sets up a world in a script, it's only right that whatever dramatic events take place in that world make sense, given what's been established. By the time the credits roll on any motion picture, then, it's not unusual to want to walk out of theatre feeling like the writer had control over what just took place on screen, and made sure to resolve any important plot points in a way that felt true to the script. Whereas some flicks opt to end on with ambiguity or with certain aspects unresolved on purpose, though, sometimes writers try to get one over on us, presumably hoping that we won't recall certain elements that just occurred in favour of the "happy" endings they've pushed upon us. I'm talking, of course, about those instances when the writers don't really play fair - where movies that seemingly ended on a high note fail to acknowledge certain plot points because it's easier. Many of 2013's movies suffered from this little trope, some of which we've gathered here for a little added dissection.
