This is a tale that we just have to keep away from Stephen Sommers. The immensely popular cartoon and comic that followed age-old Gargoyles around doing awesome Gargoyle-y things would certainly cause a few heads to turn, because it's somewhat of a forgotten, but ever-loved, property. It's another project I'd like to see B** produce, but not direct, possibly with the likes of David Slade in the director's chair. A re-introduction to New York's coolest tower-dwellers could certainly be an interesting feature film, and isn't too unlike the Ninja Turtles in its collective cast of characters. With Industrial Light and Magic using top-of-the-line motion capture for the creatures, we could finally fear these monsters in the way they were originally intended. Gothic, exciting, and altogether the collaborative effort of great imagination, Gargoyles could really turn into the hit of the summer it debuts.
