5 Reasons Why The Wolverine Suffers From Goldilocks Syndrome

5. There Is Brilliant Action, But Not Much

In all fairness, a character is not a character without motivation and emotion. However, that being said, we mostly watch Wolverine because we want to see him lose it and start impaling mo-fos with his spiked knuckles. So it should come as no surprise that in spite of some great acting from Hugh Jackman, €˜The Wolverine€™ is at its more mundane when Logan is moping about Jean Grey and living like a tramp; and this goes on for way longer than it should. Fear not though, because when things get messy in Japan, they get real messy; and we fast approach the closest to an 18-rated Wolverine film we are ever likely to see. It might not be gory, but it is thick, fast and visceral. So rule 1; if you want a Goldilocks action film, then ensure each minute of eye popping violence is countered with 5 minutes of weary dialogue.
