After Tobey Maguire had portrayed Spider-Man for three movies in Sam Raimi's trilogy, Andrew Garfield took over for two movies in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise.

Garfield was undoubtedly a great Peter Parker - portraying more of an arrogant and misunderstood outsider than previous nerdy portrayals - and his chemistry with real-life partner Emma Stone was superb. It's sad for him that he won't get the chance to work alongside the Avengers.
