Belated comedy sequels have an incredibly spotty history in Hollywood, so it's understandable if you're skeptical about a 33-years-later sequel to Eddie Murphy's 1988 smash hit Coming to America.

Then again, with so many original cast members returning alongside a host of appealing new faces - including Morgan Freeman, Wesley Snipes, Rick Ros, Tracy Morgan, and Leslie Jones - the odds seem better than most that Coming 2 America might recapture the original's magic.

With Craig Brewer (Dolemite Is My Name) taking up directing duties and the first trailer giving a positive first impression, this just might be the warm hug of a movie we could all use this year.
