In The Avengers, it was fairly obvious that Tom Hiddleston's Loki got himself captured on purpose - but nobody was quite sure why at first. His motive became apparent, however, when he eyed-up Bruce Banner with a cheeky grin - it was clear he wanted to unleash the Hulk at that point.
